Career Opportunity: Regional Appraisal Manager - Heartland Region
The Regional Appraisal Manager is responsible for leadership and management of the regional appraisal staff and their functions and also the responsibilities of a Senior Appraiser. The percentage of time split between regional management and appraisal is determined on a case-by-case basis. The management responsibility includes: prioritizing appraisal requests, maintaining high report quality, staffing, training, staff evaluation, monitoring and overseeing staff/client relationships. The Regional Appraisal Manager undertakes any rural appraisal assignment including all rural property use-types and facilities. The Regional Appraisal Manager has full appraisal signature authority having earned the appropriate State’s Certified General license. A professional designation is strongly preferred.
The incumbent is responsible for managing all activities required for accurate appraisals of the value of real property and chattel (personal property) in order to provide the association credit staff and fee clients with timely, accurate real estate appraisals.
BA or BS, 4-year degree in any agricultural, management, business, economic, real estate or accounting major of study, or equivalent.
Must hold a current State Certified General appraisal license in the appropriate state(s)
A Professional Designation with either the Appraisal Institute or the ASFMRA (ARA, MAI) is strongly preferred.
Have at least seven years experience as a real estate appraiser with at least six years devoted to agricultural use-type properties.
Experience in recruiting, interviewing applicants, training activities and supervision or management coursework is desirable.
Have expert knowledge of the appraisal process, real estate principles and practice with a sound working knowledge of the Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice.
Demonstrated ability to generate highly accurate work and make independent decisions.
Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to met deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional persuasive and interpersonal relationship skills.
Proficient in the use of a personal computer, including e-mail, word processing and electronic spreadsheet software applications.
