Job Description

The Tempe Branch currently provides lending services to approximately 533 customers averaging about $530 million of commercial and mortgage loans, with managed assets averaging $680 million.  Major enterprises financed include dairies, cotton, hay, and beef cattle.

The Vice President & Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of large, complex commercial and real estate loans; managing credit quality, credit administration and portfolio performance; and for promoting and facilitating the placement of related products provided by the Association’s Agribusiness Financial Services Department.  Assists Vice President & Branch Manager with branch human resources development and appropriately trained to excel at their job duties, provided opportunities for career development and who are provided with constructive feedback and recognition on their job performance.  Serves as Branch Manager in the absence of the Vice President & Branch Manager.

  • BA/BS degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or business administration or equivalent.
  • Five to ten years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
  • Demonstrated credit and analytical skills; working knowledge of agricultural lending principles and practices, Association policies and procedures and FCA regulations.  In-depth knowledge of the primary commodities financed by the Branch, including any government support programs.
  • Experience using PC, word processing, e-mail, and electronic spreadsheet software, including, the ability to use and understand various software related to carrying out the essential functions of the job.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills with the ability to make sound decisions within delegated authorities and time pressures with the ability to adapt within a changing environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to use office equipment such as a calculator, copier, adding machine, facsimile equipment and multi-extension telephone.
  • Ability to speak and understand English on the telephone and in face-to-face exchanges of information with all contacts.
  • Mobility on unimproved properties and/or construction sites required.
  • Travel may be required in performance of job.
