Job Description

This position generates new business with new and existing clients, maintains relationships with current clients, manages and services a loan portfolio, initiates and facilitates the loan origination process and develops a strong presence in the community. The successful incumbent will:

• Develop relationships with internal and external contacts to market credit and related services • Determine potential business opportunities by visiting clients, prospecting, and making cold calls • Identify and address prospect needs • Document prospecting information obtained, activities, and results • Maintain client relationships through frequent interaction and periodic sales calls • Review existing loans to ensure they are functioning as expected • Identify at-risk loans and recommends and implements a plan of action to resolve deficiencies • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and services • Identify and extend opportunities to refinance • Originate loans by accepting applications, gathering income information, and verifying financials • for new and existing clients • Match program, product, and terms to client needs • Determine eligibility and compliance qualifications • Works with Credit Services and the Loan Committee to negotiate and influence the final funding • decision. • Ensure proper loan documentation • Determine appropriate pricing and coordinate funding • Coordinate loan closings • Represent and promote 1st Farm Credit Services at agricultural organization meetings and • events • Maintain a professional presence throughout the agricultural community and develops a • network among community leaders and influencers • Through formal training and self-directed learning, enhance knowledge of macro and micro • marketplace events • Learn and use technology for efficient work processes


Job Requirements :

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business or a related field • Insurance license and chattel training certification required within 6 months from date of hire • Valid driver’s license • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Required Knowledge and Skills • Expert knowledge of the sales process • Working knowledge of negotiating tactics • Working knowledge of financial services industry • Expert knowledge of the agricultural industry • Expert knowledge of credit underwriting processes • Skill in preparing and presenting information to an audience in an engaging and effective way • Skill in negotiating agreements to achieve the best outcome for the organization • Skill in using Microsoft technologies including e-mail, word and spreadsheet processing • Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a client's problem or issue to find resolution • Skill in oral and written communication sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively • communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences • Skill in community relations activities • Skill in team building and team process efficiency
