FCS Financial, part of the Farm Credit Network, is seeking a conscientious, friendly, dedicated, and detailed-oriented individual.  This Loan Services Specialist position reviews legal documents and legal descriptions for accuracy and prepares accurate and complete documents for loan closings.  This position is located in the Jefferson City, Missouri. This posting closes on May 30, 2017.

Department:   Marketplace - Loan Services        

Reports To:  Manager, Loan Services     

Supervises:   None

Responsibilities/Duties

Document and Information Review

  • Reviews various appraisals,  legal documents for accuracy and adherence to regulations and Association policies and procedures
  • Enters information into software application to ensure proper documentation is maintained
  • Verifies information in Client Relationship Management database
  • Follows up on questions, inconsistencies and missing information
  • Answers questions regarding loan documentation

Document Preparation

  • Generates and merges forms using software
  • Prepares closing instructions

Closing Coordination

  • Contacts customer, title company and branch staff to schedule closing date and time
  • Communicates closing requirements and confirms requirements are met
  • Coordinates settlement statement preparation with the title company

File Preparation

  • Prepares files for finaling by:
  • Obtaining final policy and recorded deed of trust, mortgages and/or final attorney opinion from title companies
  • Reviewing documents for accuracy and adherence to regulations and Association policies and procedures
  • Communicating with title companies to obtain endorsements
  • Sending loan packets to a Loan Finaling Specialist

Processing Deed of Trust Releases

  • Verifies loan status
  • Confirms permissions to release from branch staff
  • Reviews documents received from AgriBank
  • Prepares release deeds and checks
  • Sends documents to the customer

Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft CRM applications
  • General knowledge of mortgage and commercial loan documentation, loan closing and disbursements
  • General knowledge of real estate terminology and contracts
  • General knowledge of real estate and chattel security lending legal requirements
  • General knowledge of consumer lending laws
  • Communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex issues
  • Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer's problem or issue to find resolution
  • Skill in utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness
  • Skill in processing complex, detailed information in an accurate and thorough manner
  • Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues
  • Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and customers
  • Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic way to optimize efficiency
  • Skill in applying processes and procedures to factual data to come to make a logical decision
  • Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data
