We are looking for: Credit Underwriter, Express Desk, WICHITA KANSAS 
The Credit Underwriter - Express Desk is responsible for utilizing the FICO® Small Business Scoring Service (“SBSS”) as well as traditional
differential analysis for evaluating numerous commercial and/or real estate loan applications and servicing commercial and/or real estate loans.  This position will underwrite deals for a variety of commodities across our Association's geograpgic territory. The Express Desk operates in a fast paced envornment which serves the entire Assocation.  The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, problem solver, and have the ability to think BIG PICTURE.

Duties Include: 

  1. Compiles loan and financial information from multiples sources, and inputs information in loan origination system.
  2. PROBLEM SOLVING: Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information; determine the need for more thorough investigation or additional information; analyze information statement; prepare summaries, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit-worthiness.
  3. Scores and analyze loan applications and credit package. Recommend approval or denial of loans, or approve/deny loans within lending authority
  4. Ability to make sound decisions involving varied levels of risks and ambiguity.
  5. Balance competing priorities in reaching decisions.
  6. HIGH VISIBILITY IN ORGANIZATION: Coordinates and communicates with multiple departments including but not limited to: Operations, Lending, Leasing, Retail Underwriting, Appraisal, Loan Documentation, Loan Accounting and Credit Resolution in all Regions of the Company.
  7. Represent the Association at public functions
  8. May serve as a member of the employee loan committee or participate in loan committee meetings.

Typical Education and Experience: 

  1. BA/BS degree with emphasis on agribusiness, business administration, or equivalent.
  2. At least 5 years progressibely responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
  3. Strong credit and analytical skills. Demonstrated understanding of agricultural lending principles and practices.
  4. Knowledge of FCA regulations, association, and district policies and procedures.
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
  6. ASSERTIVE BUT FRIENDLY: Strong interpersonal skills.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Proficient in use of PC, including word-processing, e-mail and electronic spreadsheet software.

Job Requirements: 
Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
