Job Description


This is a key leadership role responsible for managing Farm Credit West’s Capital Markets loan portfolio.  Responsibilities include:


  • Manages the purchase of loan participations and coordinates the sale of participation interests in Farm Credit West originated loans.
  • Actively supports FCW portfolio managers in the development and preparation of effective financing proposals for presentation to existing and potential Agribusiness-sized customers.
  • Works with the credit department to ensure credit facilities and transactions are properly structured, priced and documented for entry into the capital markets arena.
  • Exhibits independent judgment; ensures balanced and consistent approach to purchased loans; responsible for on-going account monitoring; proactive in problem detection and resolution; maintains balance between purchased loan growth and credit quality.
  • Manages department staff, internal portfolio staff interaction and external strategic partner relationships important to Farm Credit West’s mission and customers.
  • Implements Association business plan components pertinent to capital markets for the achievement of customer service, financial, credit, growth and risk management objectives.


  • Undergraduate degree in Agribusiness, Business, Accounting, Economics or related field preferred with 10 or more years of experience in financial services, including advanced knowledge of syndicated finance and senior debt loan structuring.
  • Substantial experience in structuring, evaluating and negotiating various types of senior credit facilities. 
  • Strong decision making skills as well as strong interpersonal, communication, customer service and team skills.
  • Possess proven, effective problem solving skills as well as effective negotiating, influencing and marketing skills.
  • Possess advanced computer skills including MS Office applications and other related industry applications.
  • Must be able to travel to perform certain required duties
