POSITION:                     Mortgage Loan Originator

LOCATION:                     Burleson, TX

SALARY:                         Salary plus commission

AgTexas Farm Credit Services serves approximately 2,500 borrowers in a 43 county trade territory, including metropolitan areas of Amarillo, Lubbock and Fort Worth. The association has an average volume of approximately $1.76 billion. The association territory presents tremendous opportunity as it encompasses several rapidly growing rural home markets while providing diversity in production and mortgage loans and commodities financed. The ag loan portfolio consists of cotton, livestock, dairy, feed grains, real estate and ag-related business loans.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or other related field. Two (2) years direct experience in mortgage banking, preferably in the loan origination or processing of conventional mortgages. Must be registered with the nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Strong organizational, interpersonal and sales skills. Ability to work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and loan originating software. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships to facilitate effective and efficient coordination of service delivered to customers or prospective customer.

 

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

 

  • Follows marketing plan directives within budget for promotion of secondary market mortgages.
  • Coordinates the rural home loan origination of branch referred existing and potential customers.
  • Develops and implements an organized and effective sales call plan to prospective customers and influencers.
  • Ensures a positive Farm Credit image by participating in association marketing activities and promotes association products and services.
  • Assists with monitoring and compliance with association policy and practices.
  • Gathers all information necessary for documentation, analysis, disclosure and underwriting loan requests.
  • Utilizesloan origination and desktop underwriting software in preparing the loan package for processing, underwriting and closing.
  • Analyzes complete credit and financial data on applicants to determine appropriate credit action to take under the loan program as established by investor and association guidelines.
  • Provides appropriate consumer protection information at the time of application.
  • Prices and locks in loans according to association and investor guidelines.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

 

Frequent interaction with association departmental staff, lending team and management. Occasional interaction with association senior management, Farm Credit Bank of Texas, and CEO. Frequent interaction with area professionals, including real estate agents, commercial bankers, and others who deal with the association in the normal course of business.
