Job Description

At CoBank, our Business Analyst provides full-life cycle analysis and first line support for the business units they support.   This typically involves performing impact analysis, gathering and documenting requirements, documenting test plans, coordinates user acceptance testing, documenting changes to workflow and procedures, delivering training, and providing post-implementation support for system enhancements and upgrades. In addition, you will perform complex analysis and make recommendations for process improvements.  

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and 5 years of relevant work experience including a successful record of development and product enhancement in area of responsibility; or appropriate combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and leveraging various modeling techniques for requirements elicitation (use cases, wireframes/conceptual prototypes, process flow diagrams, etc.).
  • Experience planning and facilitating requirements gathering sessions (Joint Application Design (JAD) or other requirements gathering techniques).
  • Experience in strategic business process modeling, traceability and quality management techniques.
  • Experience in requirements prioritization and scope negotiation.
  • Experience developing and conducting training.        
  • Experience developing and executing test plans and test scripts.
  • Intermediate experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, reporting and flowcharting applications.
  • Basic understanding of program management concepts, project management and implementation techniques, process re-engineering and change management.
  • Experience in both iterative (agile, RUP, etc.) and waterfall.
  • Experience utilizing established methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, etc. is strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • CBAP certification
  • PMP certification
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours.
  • Some travel may be required.
