Job Description

The Mortgage Processor provides exceptional, first-level, internal and external customer service by supporting the delivery of consumer financial services. Responsibilities include supporting Consumer Loan Officers in the origination through post-closing processes of consumer loans. This position also provides backup support for other Mortgage Processor team members as needed. 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS:  Establishes, develops, and maintains strong internal and external customer relationships by coaching others and consistently providing quality service that is timely, thorough and responsive, and exceeds customer expectations.  Works with Consumer Loan Officers (CLOs) to understand customer goals, and delivers value- added/ constructive financial information. 

 

Support the lending process by doing the following:  

  • Establishes mutual value, receives/processes applications & assists with the decisioning of applications for customer requests. 
  • Gathers and inputs appropriate customer information and assists credit team members to originate and submit the loan for approval.
  • Prepares appropriate disclosures and issues to borrowers in accordance with consumer regulations.
  • Proactively manages workflow to meet key milestone dates such as preparing and sending compliance documents, ordering and reviewing title work, appraisals, flood certifications, etc.
  • Determines insurance needs and obtain appropriate insurance documents from customer.
  • Works with CLO and customer to gather documentation to meet closing conditions.
  • Coordinates, prioritizes and completes closings by:
    • Confirming accuracy of rate lock, loan pricing and fees.
    • Verifying loan collateral is booked correctly in database.
    • Reviewing closing documents for accuracy and preparedness.
    • Monitoring Right to Rescind.
    • Preparing and reviewing Closing Disclosure with title companies and customers prior to closing.
    • Confirming escrow information is correct for loans requiring escrow.
  • Monitors loan documentation to certify loans in a timely manner.
  • Complies with regulations by checking loans and being a compliance resource for the team.
  • Processes, approves, and closes loan servicing requests within delegated authority.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Demonstrates ability to become a fully functional processor through training and job experience.  High School diploma and at least four years of successful experience in two or more of the following areas: financially related customer service, loan processing, loan servicing, title, or loan document review.  Farm Credit Mid-America experience desired and performance level at previous grades exceeded expectations.  -OR-   Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
