Job Description

This position is located in the Statesboro office and reports directly to the Director of SMM & Financially Related Services. The Mortgage Loan Originator Manager provides direct supervision to MLO’s and indirect supervision to processing and closing staff to originate loans for sale into the secondary mortgage market.   


  • Monitor originator performance, closings and fees charged to insure individual and ACA objectives are met for closed loans and fees.
  • Manage and assist originators with loan marketing, loan structure, and loan compliance.
  • Assist existing and potential customer with issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to new and existing originators on operational policies and procedures, product knowledge and processes.
  • Keep abreast of changes in policies and procedures, standards and regulations applicable to the mortgage industry to help ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and review originators regarding individual performance for department.
  • Manage marketing and public relations budgets on individual MLO level to ensure funds are getting desired results.
  • Assist with the planning and budgeting for department.
  • Responsible for hiring and other personnel management functions.
  • Position may require up to 40% travel.


  • The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of mortgage lending industry laws and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of mortgage loan origination and processing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential mortgage origination, processing, closing, or post-closing functions; Bachelors degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Expert customer service skills; ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae Underwriting Guidelines, FHA connection and the VA portal.
  • Prior experience with the Farm Credit System.
