POSITION:                        Insurance Administrative Assistant


LOCATION:                       Brownfield Texas


SALARY:                             Negotiable, depending upon experience, plus incentives.



AgTexas Farm Credit Services serves approximately 2,500 borrowers in a 43 county trade territory. The Association has an average volume of approximately $1.2 billion. The loan portfolio consists of real estate, livestock, cotton, peanuts, dairy and ag-related business loans. The Association provides related services including crop, livestock and life insurance to members with premiums in excess of $25 million.



Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or a related field is preferred but not required. Previous work experience in an agricultural field will be given preference; understanding of agricultural businesses and terminology required. The Association seeks an individual capable of obtaining, or presently possessing, a Texas Property & Casualty license. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficient computer skills, a willingness to learn new software applications, the ability to meet stringent deadlines with accuracy and extreme attention to detail, possess strong written and oral communication skills, and will be comfortable meeting with the public. Candidate will have a dedication to a team concept in the workplace, a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt, and will be a proven self-starter.




  • Perform insurance administrative and servicing duties
  • Assist with policyholder data collection and processing
  • Monitor and maintain records for insurance programs
  • Represent the department and Association in a professional manner
  • Use computer systems to prepare reports, store and manipulate data through various insurance software programs, spreadsheets and databases
  • Analyze insurance information and maintain policyholder account information
  • Maintain and protect confidential information



Frequent interaction with customers, association departmental staff and management. Occasional interaction with area professionals including insurance agents and companies who deal with the Association in the normal course of business.
