Job Description

At CoBank, our IT Help Desk Specialist answers phones calls and emails from CoBank associates and assigns tickets to appropriate IT staff members for problem resolution.  They provide first level support for hardware, software, and network related issues. The Help Desk Specialist escalates problems to the appropriate teams as needed and actively communicates status to the customer. They provide basic end-user training as needed, and assists with the yearly hardware refresh including computer imaging, new computer builds, transfer of user data and settings.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 1-2 years of experience supporting desktop operating systems and applications including Microsoft Operating systems, e-mail applications, and major desktop productivity tools (e.g., MS Office) in an enterprise environment; or appropriate combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to IT Service Management and Operating methodologies (e.g., ITIL).
  • Experience troubleshooting issues as first or second level support for desktop applications, local/networking printing, e-mail, connectivity, remote access, and hardware issues for desktop and laptop equipment, printers, and peripherals (e.g., smartphones).
  • Exceptional customer service skills as demonstrated by written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users to articulate, analyze, and resolve issues over the telephone and in person.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to lift, move and relocate equipment, monitors, and peripherals weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in banking or financial services
  • A+, MCP or MCSE certification or equivalent work experience.
