Job Description

Title:  Brand Specialist
Office Location:  Normal, IL, Prairie du Sac, WI, or Mankato, MN

Position Overview:  Works closely with marketing communications team to align marketing tactics with strategy objectives. Works with sales to develop a deep understanding of client needs and define marketing strategies for products and services.

Successful candidates will:

Storefront Management

  • Oversees the relationship with our marketing storefront and printing vendor (including printing, giveaway items and the clothing program) and ensures a range of available products meet organizational needs, consistent with the brand and sales support efforts.
  • Coordinates ordering of mailings/printing and brand materials with storefront vendor.
  • Partners with brand team to support marketing storefront needs.
  • Works with Finance on the financial reporting for discretionary needs.

Advertising and Campaigns

  • Supports campaign deliverables through creation and execution, partnering with other marketing team members and agency partners. 
  • Coordinates business proposals & creative briefs, day-to-day external vendor relationships, and creative asset management to ensure materials are delivered on-time.
  • Creates, implements and manages advertising tactics to promote product/service campaigns including developing sales tools and collateral to support product marketing and ensuring effective product positioning in the market for products and services.
  • Measures marketing communication programs, tactics and campaigns and applies strong marketing acumen ensuring best practices and optimal performance of integrated marketing efforts.
  • Supports additional brand marketing efforts as needed.


  • Assists in the development and design of marketing materials to support the brand and products/services.
  • Reviews, updates, and proofs marketing content deliverables to ensure accuracy and adherence to brand and campaign standards. 
  • Assists in writing and editing engaging brand messages, headlines, body copy and specifics for print, digital, web including print, trade ads, emails, web copy and content, social media, and special projects.
  • Works within established copy formats, including information flow, word count, style guidelines and brand/voice adherence.
  • Coordinates external vendor resources to design and/or produce marketing deliverables to ensure creative work is cohesive, effective and on-brand.
  • Assists with additional design needs, including both print and web elements.
  • Supports the production of additional creative needs, as requested by other departments; offers design recommendations to internal customers when appropriate.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing, business management, finance, agribusiness or related field and a minimum of 3 – 5 years of marketing experience, or equivalent;
  • Solid knowledge of financial products and services as well as general marketing concepts and principles;
  • Proven project management, organizational, interpersonal, communication (written, verbal and presentation), analytical, problem solving and negotiating skills essential; and,
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently.
