Job Description

Position Summary

Golden State Farm Credit is looking for a part-time Support Specialist or Senior Support Specialist for our Red Bluff Branch Office. This position prepares reports, documents and inputs data for the Credit Analysts and Loan Officers to use in decision-making. The position offers support to the Loan Officer with customer questions and information a customer may need for their account. This recruitment is open until filled.

Essential Functions

  • Documentation
    • Orders verifications and searches (OFAC, credit, Secretary of State, UCC request)
    • Creates customer application and loan offer packages
    • Creates and shares loan documents into the appropriate system
  • Loan Administration
    • Prints loan documents and prepares them for signatures
    • Requests transfers of funds to accounting
    • Packages documents to be delivered to title companies
    • Enters and verifies loan information in internal loan software
    • Scans and files supporting electronic loan documents in content management software and loan files
    • Obtains customer signatures on documents
    • Answers customer questions regarding loan disbursements
    • Serves as Notary for customers
    • Types letters for Land Bank loans and past due loans
    • Prepares letters to customers for past due loans for Branch Manager signature
  • Customer Service
    • Answers the telephone, transfers calls to appropriate individuals, and takes and distributes messages
    • Greets customers, determines the nature of their visit, and identifies resources to assist them
    • Meets with customers to collect financial information and discuss new loan opportunities
  • Data Security and Confidentiality
    • Appropriately protects the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data
  • Commitment and Support of Association Mission
    • Understands, applies, and supports the Association mission and vision statement in a positive, professional manner at work and with customers in all setting

Senior Support Specialist responsibilities may also include:

  • County and Property Searches
    • Conducts county and property searches based on legal description,
    • Tracks and files UCC filing statements
  • Data Entry and Verification
    • Enters information into internal loan software
      • Inputs required data into loan origination or servicing process
      • Uploads financial and collateral data
      • Verifies correct approval signatures/notes in content management system and internal loan software
    • Prepares loan package for documentation by:
      • Uploading, indexing, and verifying relevant loan information to content management system

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of the agriculture, financial and real estate industry, and applied business mathematics and principles.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, computers, current software, and other office tools.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Skill in serving and working effectively with both external and internal customers in a professional, respectful manner.
  • Skill in analyzing information and problem solving to formulate logical and objective conclusions.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and methods.

Qualifications:

Support Specialist

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: No experience required
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Senior Support Specialist

  • Education: Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 year(s) of experience in banking or finance
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Physical Demands

Positions in this class requires:  typing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.  May be required to lift up to 10 pounds, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects while completing essential functions.  This position is comprised of sedentary work which involves sitting at a computer a majority of the workday; walking and standing are required only occasionally. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and/or reading extensively.

Working Conditions

Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
