Job Description

As a key member of the credit team, you will be part of AgriBank’s mission to support the people who feed the world. As a Credit Economist, you will provide expertise in the areas of agricultural economics, general economics, and risk management to assist AgriBank, the AgriBank board of directors and associations in business planning and management decisions. Other duties will include: • Maintaining databases of agricultural and economic information that are shared with the AgriBank network • Authors articles, commentary, compiles information and prepares presentation materials • Coordinates the process of updating and maintaining four credit risk scorecard models for District associations and affiliated organizations • Ensures scorecards are validated and current and works with associations on inquiries and input on the scorecards • Attends and participates as a nonvoting member of the AgriBank Loan, Asset Liability Management, Finance, and Enterprise Risk Management committees • Contributes expertise in economic matters as need • Completes oil production (Bakken) model forecasts monthly • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization Minimum Qualifications • Master’s degree in economics, agricultural economics or related field • 5 – 10 years of related experience • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job Required Knowledge and Skills • Expert knowledge of micro- and macroeconomic theory • Thorough understanding of agri-business • Expert knowledge of econometrics and statistics • Expert knowledge of finance, accounting and risk analysis/management • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences • Skill in analyzing complex technical data by using logic as well as conceptual and quantitative reasoning In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
