With more than 20 years of experience in the field of diversity, Rodney S. Patterson brings a wealth of knowledge to his position as Corporate Diversity and Talent Management Officer for CoBank, the Farm Credit bank serving associations in 23 states and agribusinesses nationwide. In this role, Mr. Patterson is responsible for driving diversity, inclusion and engagement throughout CoBank and the Farm Credit System.

Prior to joining CoBank in 2011, Mr. Patterson served a wide range of corporate clients as senior facilitator for the Boston-based consulting firm, Global Novations, and as Director of Consulting and Talent Management for Hudson Highland, a leading global provider of talent management solutions. Before entering the corporate world, he spent nearly 15 years in academia leading diversity-related activities long before the title of Chief Diversity Officer existed. He also served as President of Hales Franciscan High School in Chicago, Illinois. In his early career, Mr. Patterson served as both a high school and elementary school teacher.

In addition to his academic work, Mr. Patterson has consulted with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and has worked directly with professional sports teams. He also is an author and accomplished public speaker.

Mr. Patterson earned a bachelor's degree in theology from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana, and a master's degree in higher education administration from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in business administration.
