Paul DeBriyn is the President and Chief Executive Officer of AgStar Financial Services, ACA, the Farm Credit association serving large areas of Minnesota and Wisconsin. He is responsible for the success of AgStar - ensuring AgStar has a robust strategic plan focused on serving agriculture and rural America. He executes this plan to achieve extraordinary client service and value to AgStar’s client-stockholders.
Mr. DeBriyn received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural business administration from the University of Minnesota. He started in 1977 at what was then the St. Paul Bank for Cooperatives in many different positions. In the 1980s, he became involved in joint management functions for the St. Paul Bank, Federal Land Bank and Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of St. Paul. In 1987, he became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Farm Credit Services of Southeast Minnesota. Since then, as a result of a number of mergers, the association has evolved into AgStar Financial Services, ACA. AgStar has approximately $8 billion in assets managed to 24,000 farmers, agribusinesses, and rural residences primarily in the upper Midwest. Mr. DeBriyn recently completed ten years of service on the Farmer Mac Board of Directors and various committees on that board.
