2014 National Contributions Application Deadline is Oct. 20

Farm Credit is currently accepting applications for the 2014 National Contributions Program funding cycle. Organizations wishing to solicit support in 2014 must submit an online application by October 20.

“Farm Credit has been supporting rural communities for decades, and since 2010 alone has supported more than 100 organizations and programs at the national level that are committed to building a diverse and successful agricultural industry and a thriving rural America,” said Christina Bowen, Director of National Contributions for the Farm Credit System.

The Farm Credit National Contributions Program complements the significant local and regional Farm Credit giving and volunteerism programs happening every day, and focuses on supporting organizations and programs in three areas:

  • Agriculture Education and Training: Education programs that prepare young, beginning, small and minority producers for a future in agribusiness and that teach youth populations about agriculture.
  • Industry Champions: Programs that support the overall well-being of farmers, ranchers and rural America and that help to educate the general population about agriculture.
  • Public Policy: Organizations that promote America’s producers and work to move farm-friendly policy forward and keep the business of agriculture financially viable.
