Farm Credit 3rd Quarter National Contributions Recipients

Farm Credit is proud to support organizations and initiatives that improve the lives and livelihoods of farmers and ranchers both locally and nationally. In the spirit of the season, I’d like to thank all of Farm Credit’s community partners for your dedication and commitment to agriculture – past, present and future. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with so many of the agriculture industry’s best and brightest!

I am pleased to announce Farm Credit’s 3rd Quarter National Contributions recipients, which represent a small slice of the Farm Credit System’s giving and volunteerism efforts, happening largely at the local level. Farm Credit’s national giving is focused in three areas:

Producers for Tomorrow – The future of agriculture in America depends in large part on the success of the growing number of young, beginning, small and minority farmers, as well as a well-educated youth population. North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge is an example of one program that facilitates education, communication and an exchange of ideas among students, agribusiness, dairy producers and universities that enhances the development of the dairy industry and its leaders.

Advocates for Ag – Advocates for agriculture strive to inform policy makers about the potential effects of their decisions, and help influence decisions for the betterment of U.S. agriculture, including the Grange Foundation, which has been teaching rural American families about community values and citizenship for more than 100 years.

Friends of Agriculture – Farm Credit supports organizations that create greater awareness of, and excellence in, U.S. agriculture, including the Intertribal Agriculture Council, which promotes the conservation, development and use of our agricultural resources for the betterment of Native American people.

We are now accepting applications for 2013 programs. The 4th quarter application deadline is Nov. 30. Below is the complete list of the 3rd quarter recipients:
