It's July! Break Out the Red, White and Blueberries

This July at Farm Credit we have so much to celebrate! In addition to our nation's independence and National Blueberry Month, we will be wrapping up our 95th year of Farm Credit's service to agriculture and rural America. Farm Credit was established by Congress on July 17, 1916, and today serves nearly 500,000 member-borrowers with more than $170 billion in loans and financial services. 95 Years: U.S. Senator Duncan U. Fletcher

Duncan Upshaw Fletcher was first appointed U.S. Senator from Florida in 1909 and served in that capacity until his death in 1936. He was born in Georgia, educated at Vanderbilt University, became a lawyer and moved to Florida as a young man. A Democrat, he served in a number of local and then state offices before becoming U.S. Senator. He was 57 years old at the time the Farm Loan Act was passed. Read More »
