AgVantis is searching for an internto join our team as an Accounting Intern. AgVantis provides technology solutions and services to Farm Credit Associations throughout the United States to support their loan origination, business and accounting needs.

 

Position Summary:

The Accounting team serves as a resource to deliver accounting standards, knowledge and support to our customers. AgVantis is looking for an Accounting Intern to reconcile transaction activity, including drafts, checks, ACH, wires and general ledger activity.  This will involve research, communication and documentation of the applicable information and accounting entries.      

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete scheduled account reconciliations, identify exceptions, prepare correcting entries and provide documentation/support to customers.
  • Prepare and monitor subsidiary reconcilement of general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare accounts payable vouchers.
  • Supporting the electronic transaction services provided to AgVantis customers.  This will involve detailed reconciliations of ACH, Check, Wire and Lockbox activity.
  • Maintaining supporting documentation and approvals for audit reviews.
  • Analyzing various loan related transactions to support the loan accounting software.  This would include direct interactions with AgVantis customers related to various loan monitoring reports, loan servicing actions, exception processing and various account reconciliations.

 Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills to support accounting functions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of accounting principles.
  • Familiar with standard Office software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a drive to succeed with a team, supporting others while working toward shared goals.
